Minister for Women Jodie Harrison:

“Recent national research shows that Australians’ financial literacy is going backwards and is lowest among young women and girls.

It’s therefore crucial that we provide financial education to girls from an early age, so they can start developing important lifelong skills that contribute to financial understanding and wellbeing.

Helping them understand basic financial concepts and how to apply that knowledge in practical ways grows their self-confidence around their goals.

Financial literacy and competency are building blocks for a secure future, empowering women to choose their own path and be financially independent.”
